An excellent chapter. I like the way Lupin asked Harry to come an try his hand a dealing with a howler. Of course Remus had no way of knowing what would happen when Harry destroyed the Boggart. That was very well done. I like the fact that Dobby came and helped Harry out. Remus handled Dobby well. At least Dobby didn't keep hurting himself. Harry would have hated that. I'm glad Harry's friends were there for him. Especially Ginny. He needs her very much to help him through all that he has to do. The howler situation with Neville and his grandmother is great. I'm sure she never expected her mild mannered grandson would ever send her a howler. That was very good. Thanks so much for writing. I look forward to your next update. I am really enjoying your story. pms

Another great update to the best "Harry goes back in time to put right what once went wrong" fanfic out there.
One minor thing, could you have included an explination to what the customs that Nevilla was invoking with Luna was about? You did say that Harry didn't know, but Ron did, so having them explain to Harry and Hermionie would be a logical thing to do.

Oooh. Exploding boggarts, always got to be called fun that. Was the spell he used to detroy boggy voldy the same one he used to kill him in the future?
Liked how Neville is taking his Gran to the cleaners.
Thanks for updating, I look forward to more. Please write as fast as life allows, its just so good!

Excellent chapter. Harry certainly lucked out with the boggart. The Headmaster (luckily) doesn't seem too suspicious (at least in what you've written) and McGonagall seems to be on Harry's side.
Loved McGonagall's reaction to Harry's "innocent" look; I get the impression that his father used that same look right before doing a prank.
The Longbottom thing is an interesting subplot. Looking forward to Neville's confontation with his grandmother. Of course, this chapter didn't cover much time, but any word on what's happening with Snape and Draco? Why do I get the feeling that we'll see Draco with the Durmstrang group during the Triwizard?
Thanks for writing. Keep up the good work!

sigh... As usual when I see you've released a new chapter for this fic, I'm both ecstatic and frustrated beyond belief that this is still a WIP ;-) I don't often leave reviews for the fics I prefer, as they're usually already well-written and/or beta'd, and don't need much in the way of constructive criticism (and I do read a lot of fics). Nightmares of Futures Past, however, now holds the honor of being one of about four or five fics out of however many hundreds I've read, which impressed and entertained me so much (seriously... absolutely amazing, incredible, mind-blowing, fantastic story you've got going here.) that I posted a review for encouragement at the very least. So without further ado... more! more! more! faster! faster! faster! :-D Keep up the excellent work!

Awesome. Figured the Boggart would do something like it did. But a question about something else that's bugged me. What about some of the teachers at Hogwarts besides the Headmaster? I kinda doubt McGonagall would have sat by and let the school fall or let Harry and his little group go it alone even in the past(future or whatever, paradox headache), much less now. Great story no matter what. And umm... when might the next Team 8 becoming out, just out of curiosity? (whistles innocently.)

Hmm, I didn't expect you'd use the cliché of ravaged dead bodies, but I'm surprised at how well you did it. Combining it with Voldemort saying 'I have already won' captures Harry's greatest fear pretty well. Your description of the Boggart's defense mechanism makes it absolutely necessary to go that way, and I don't resent you not going for something more abstract or original. Well done!
Great job also on the reactions. It's pretty smart of you how Remus is able to put it off as Ginny being Lily and Harry's rage being aimed at Voldemort killing his parents, but anytime his suspicions are aroused, he may arrive at the conclusion that Occam's Razor doesn't cut true in this case.
The conversation between Dumbledore and Minerva is quite enlightening. Dumbledore still fears a repeat of the events that led to Voldemort, and he seems to care too much about what Fudge thinks, but thanks to Minerva's observance, he gains a valuable perspective on Harry's behavior.
Great job on the Lupin/Dobby meeting. 'Master Loopy' is just priceless! :D

Something your betas must have missed - I thought I'd bring it to your attention.
I love the part with Neville at the end of the chapter, it's masterfully done. It looks like someone finally snapped, but in Neville's case that might not be a bad thing. His response to Minerva was priceless, and the shocked look she gave Harry was great too. Too reminiscent of a certain James Potter, that grin, eh?
I'm greatly looking forward to the next chapter. Maybe Remus will get that impulse that changes his perception of Harry, and how the situation with Neville's aunt resolves should be interesting.
Until next time!

Oh, oh! Another chapter!
I am glad Neville is standing up for himself. I hope that is a good thing.

Great chapter. Does the spell that Harry used against the boggart translates as "Black Hole"? If so it reminds me of Kinsfire having Harry conjure anti-matter against Voldemort in one of his stories.
I really like seeing Neville response to his Gran's Howler and his own Howler back to her was perfectly in character for him.
Professor McGonagall pointing out the differences in Harry's responses to the injuries sustained by those who attacked him last year and his response to Remus's injuries was nicely done. I also like how she picked up on it when Dumbledore missed it completely.
Thanks for another great part to this excellent story.

Really enjoying this story and as always eagerly awaiting the next chapter. However, two points:
Lupin shook his head. "I’m not Dumbledore, Harry; I don’t think everyone can be saved. I believe there comes a time and when justice must be meted out. I don’t think anyone knows exactly how many deaths he’s caused, how many lives he’s ruined. If any living person deserves your hatred, he does." I presume you meant "a time and place when"; and
"Austrailian Magical Governments" should be "Australian Magical Governments".
Regardless, as stated, I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
Thank you.

Very well done.I see that even this far into the story the character development has not stop and it is always nice to something new of the people in the story.

Woohoo! Some serious action, and Neville standing up to his gran - wonderful. Guess Mrs.Stebbins will soon discover that Neville knows who's been talking?
Great story, a pleasure to read, and I so look forward to the next instalment.
Thank you for sharing!

*laughs* Oh, that was a good chapter and well worth the wait. The bit with the boggart was "interesting" and it will be most enlightening to see Remus' reaction when he's told the full truth. I have to wonder why McGonagall went pale when Harry gave her that innocent smile; I have to think it was way, way too much a reminder of James Potter and she likely remembered that presaging some truly outrageous pranking. I do love the revenge Neville and company obtained, that Hufflepuff boy is going to think real hard about annoying some people again and I think Neville's gran is just now realizing that he's maturing into a most formidable young man (heck of a way to find it out, though - her tough luck to push it).

Good chapter. I wonder if Harry is going to have a real melt down from all the stress? He seems to need another good chat with Sirius or Arthur to release some pent up anxiety. He is trying to keep a number of balls in the air. I enjoyed the boggart encounter and the prank actually there is lots of good stuff in this chapter. Thanks for writing it. W.

kick butt neville, kick butt!!! - sorry, had to get the fanboy review out of the way.
waited quite some time for this story, which was cool as it gave me time to read your Naruto story (the first one, not the new one you're also writing). reeeaaalllyyy good by the way. i think it's just a bit better than this current harry potter one you're writing, but i'm not sure if it's because i don't know anything bout naturo so that everything i read of your story is fresh or not.
i also like how after a break (not sure if you intended this or not) you came back with a very nice segue into neville's story a bit. i personally enjoy stories bout some of the fringe hp characters like neville, bill w., charlie w, luna, etc, so on and so forth fifth and sixwith.
thanks for a great story, i'll head on back over to naruto until the next chapter of either story. and i hope this comment was coherent enough to be understood. i just reread it and it kinda seems all over the place. oh well. late.

Well, another NoFP fix, yea!
In about a month, I'll be shaking, going through withdrawal symptoms, dry mouth, blurry eyes, increased hostility, etc... so ignore my sillyness and take your time with the next chapter.
Can't wait.

Oh and to Mrriggeri dont think the ghost flinch from minnie was because of TMR BUT because his Innocent smile was probly with his looks making him look just like a young james potter as he claimed innocence for a marauder prank
